Be part of the fun with the 50km ride

Great Missenden for coffee

Our 50km ride is the perfect outing if you just want to be involved or you want to get home for the afternoon.

Starting at Woodoaks Farm in Maple Cross at 10 am we head towards Chalfont St Giles and then to Prestwood before dropping in to Great Missenden for coffee and maybe some cake.

There’s just one noticeable climb up to Hyde Heath before returning home via Amersham, Little Chalfont and Heronsgate.

There’s up to four hours to get around in and with just two controls at Prestwood and Great Missenden you are free to alter your route to maximise your fun.

Audax events are deliberately simple affairs and part of the fun is navigating yourself. The exact route is undergoing refinement involving skilled cake testers and tail wind maximisation so we’ll share a turn by turn instruction sheet and a GPS file a week or so before the event.

Audax events are unsupported. Of course, we’d love to see your friends and family at the end, but once you start you are on your own (with only the kindness of other riders to back you up).

If you are not familiar with Audax-style events don’t worry it’s quite straightforward – there’s a simple form to fill in.

Be sure to read the T&Cs – entry fees are not normally refundable (most of it is going to a good cause) or transferable (to another rider or another event), and we can’t come and pick you up if you get into difficulty (although if you do hit a problem other riders will usually try to help). As we expect to be fully booked switching between events is unlikely to be possible.

There’s a simple personal declaration (we need to check you like cake and know what you’re letting yourself in for) so you have to enter for yourself (and not sign up all your friends without telling them).

After entering you will receive an email in a few days confirming you place and providing further information. We will communicate with you via email so be sure to check you received the message and that your spam folder hasn’t eaten it!
